The tradition of candidates choosing a Saint name came from a time when many adults were converting to the faith. They chose a Saint’s name as their new name to mark their new Christian life. You are encouraged to keep this tradition, claiming a Saint as a role-model and advocate.
On the day of your Confirmation, the bishop will call you by your Confirmation name as he anoints you with oil of the Holy Chrism. We ask you to please choose a saint and write a reflection paper on why you have chosen this saint.

What qualities did this Saint have that made an impact on you?
How is this saint an example for your life?
Which character quality. es will you strive to imitate from your saint’s life?
Please write 2 – 3 fully typed pages (12 point font, double spaced) as your reflection paper. Please be sure to include all sources of information (books and websites). Credit will not be given for plagiarism.
